Let's walk the talk on Saturday 7th November
Thank you to everyone who took part in Walking Home last year, but it’s now time to get your shoes back on, start training and help us raise the awareness of homelessness within the region and raise some funds for our fantastic Homeless Shoe Program, where we have already distributed over 1,500 brand new pairs of New Balance shoes to people in our community.
Check out photos captured by Ferne Millen Photography at last year's event by clicking here.
Together we can truly raise awareness and understanding of homelessness in Geelong and South West Region. At the same time, we will raise funds for this very worthy cause.
The walk begins in Queenscliff, proceeds along the Bellarine Rail Trail to conclude at Steampacket Gardens at the Geelong Waterfront. The total walk distance is 37km but walkers can choose to do a particular section of the walk if preferred. You can choose from four distances, depending on your fitness level and time availability. Whatever your distance, you will walk alongside dedicated representatives of the many organisations who deliver services to homeless people and many other like-minded community folk.
Together, we will all reach Geelong Waterfront late afternoon and share in a free public event featuring speakers and live music.
Please note: T-shirts will be available to be collected from Salvo Connect, Geelongs Gym, Athletes Foot about 1 month prior to the walk or at any of the starting locations on the day.
